StyxDS v0.1a française

StyxDS is an emulator Atari ST for Nintendo DS. It is based on castaway of Jhoenig.
The speed of emulation is currently 60% on average.
With you Xenon 2, Rick Dangerous and other plays of legend.

Among the functionalities, one finds:
- Support of the discs to the format .st
- Management of the sound.
- Support DLDI

Level use, it is enough for you to copy the Rom and the discs in the root or the /roms/st repertory of your chart flash, patcher the nds with patchor DLDI and of launching this homebrew from your Nintendo DS
All the roms 1.x and 2.x should function but that which I use for my developments is the v1.02 (tos102fr.img). It is necessary to re-elect it in tos.bin.

It is a version alpha! They comprise many bugs and I of it am conscious.

My future improvements will aim at the acceleration of the CPU, the management of the files .msa (the .msa are convertible in .st starting from the software available on the site of Zorg) or of another software usable in line of order, the improvement of the sound, the saves-states, a keyboard a little more ST friendly.

    anyway i patch the file with DLDI and rename it in .bin,
    but when i load the emulator on the upper screen i see only bad lines and nothing else (even if i load a game)
    In the lower screen it works well

    Le ketchup juste incroyable ! Vous êtes une force majeure dans le DS à la maison la scène de brassage. CrocoDS est superbe. Je dois essayer StyxDS.     Bon par contre je n’arrive pas à le faire tourner.
    J’ai une supercard DS, j’ai bien patché la rom avec DLDItools
    j’ai tout collé à la racine de la carte. (Styxds + les roms Atari au format .st)
    L’émulateur se lance, je vois bien la liste des jeux mais quand j’en lance un je me retrouve avec une espece de ligne de pixel coloré sur le coté gauche de l’écran et rien de plus… et ça me fait la même chose pour toutes les roms.

    Qqun a une idée à me soumettre? Mauvaises roms ST? oublie d’un fichier à patcher? je suis un peu perdu :(

    but when I lunch a rom… it returns to OS.
    Yesterday I have try Xenon2 and I have a little sound (bipppppppppp) but black screen…

    Or, après avoir enlevé les 3/4 de mes fichiers .ST (j’en avais mis une trentaine, j’ai peut-être vu un peu trop grand) et après avoir placé le fichier tos.bin à la racine de ma carte, ça marche !

    Donc, je me joins enfin au concert de louanges ! Pouvoir jouer à Xenon 2 et Virus sur sa DS à une vitesse déjà très correcte, c’est tout simplement ahurissant ! Bravo !!!

    Great work! I really never hoped to see AtariST emu on DS, but now I’m one happy puppy ;) That is - almost. I did get to run many games but havent been able to get the mouse support working. When I switch to “mouse pad” (in the right upper corner) I cannot move the cursor - I can only press the left button (and fortunately, run some PRG files from TOS). Other than that, I couldn’t do nothing. What am I doing wrong?

    Also when I try to change the “Key Layout” on the fly the emu stops working and I need to load the roms again. I’m using R4.

    I’m really looking forward to the next version. Keep up the good work and merci beaucoup!

    Well anyway ,I too have no mouse emulation using max media dock, so your not doing anything wrong Shtroodle. Many cards are having problems with it. The supercard and M3 simply also have the same problems I think.I was playing rick dangerous last night, no graphical errors at all!

    These are fantastic emulators, incredible work, probably the most important coding work going on right now(well and frodoDS imo :) )

    I have the M3 Simply and i test your emulator seriously…

    - First STYX WORK on M3 simply with Tos 1.00, Tos 1.02 et Tos 1.62 IN UK VERSION!!!
    UK Version are More compatible with the games.Take the 1.02 UK version.
    - The mouse Pad WORK GOOD on M3 Simply (Choose “Mouse emulation” in Key featuring) and RESET !!
    THE SENSIBILITY OF THE MOUSE ARE BAD… (Waiting for the next version!!!)
    - NO Music in game but we have sound !!!!
    - Problem with Scroll Copper and Overscan : Superskeek, IK+, Turrican 1 et 2, Barbarian, Nebulus, Strider, Buggy Boy, Krypton Egg, Great Giana Sister (Fixed in a futur version?!)

    - Speed ball 1 et 2, Spherical, Dungeon Master,Chaos Strike Back, Rick Dangerous, Xenon 1 et 2, Elemental, Tetris, Bombuzal, Supercars, Rainbow Island, Push Over and Airball WORK !!!!

    SPEED IN GAME ARE A BIT SLOW but I believe in the next Version !!!

    Je rêve de le tester (turrican2, GhoulsGhost, Capitain blood, Wizball…) mais je suis trop boulet et ça ne marche pas. J’ai insallé le fichier NDS a la racine (patché avec DLDI), créé un répertoire roms/st et mis mes roms (msa converties en st) dedans. Je lance l’émulateur, j’ai l’écran vert de l’OS et quand je fais AUTOSTART ROM (ou load disk) je me retrouve avec des disques vides. Quand je clique sur les disques (A: et B:) ils sont vides (0 ocets pour 0 fichiers). Et ce pour tous les jeux.
    Est(ce que j’ai oublié un truc ? J’ai une DS lite avec supercard micro SD lite.

    Bonne continuation pour tes futurs développement.

    V 0.2 works with CycloDS too. You can add “Magic Pocket” to the list of emulated games. It works with automount after a clean boot the intro is slow but the game works perfectly at 75% speed

    Hi y’all. In fact I’ve had the same emulation problems, and after a bit of experimentation I found out that for Styx to work properly, you need to find the good tos file…try with all the tos you can find on the net (rename them to tos.bin each time) and eventually one of them will work.
    For me it turned out to be a UK_v1.00 tos…(kaostos didn’t work)…good luck and have fun !
    Note : The emulation isn’t as good as SnesDS, so don’t be sad if you don’t manage to make this one work !
