KMSC #4: Stick Animator DS

28-Mar-07

This 4th entry was created by Nick Clark.
Here is his description:

The app I had in mind is a Stick Figure Animator that would be a simple made app but would be an ever lasting, never boring one also. You pretty much have joints that can be moved with the stylus on one screen. and on the other you would have a frame browser and a movie player.

The main menu would have three simple options:

new project
load project
movie mode- this would have a list of saved projects just for watching

KMSC #3: Flashplayer DS

27-Mar-07

This 3rd entry was created by Pas of my ndsblog.
Here is his description:

This is a mockup of a possible Flashplayer for the Nintendo DS. Such a player would be very practical because we would have 1000000000+ games and apps to play/use for our DS then. I’m aware that this isn’t the cutest or best looking entery you have ever seen, but isn’t it the Idea that counts aswell ? ^^

KMSC #2: DSsh

27-Mar-07

This 2nd entry was created by Null from Uncanny::Works.
Here is his description:

I am suggesting for your mashup contest NDSSH a ssh client for the nds. The touch screen could hold a keyboard entry screen and the command line. The top screen could be the scroll buffer.
I’m not including an image because it’d just be blank for the top screen and a line on the bottom screen (command line) and a keyboard.

-Controls-
Two modes for the Dpad (swap able with the select key?)
1) like the arrow keys on a keyboads, moves the cursor around the command line etc – stylus is used to select keys on the keyboard
2) gui mode – dpad controls the keyboard gui – you have to select keys using the dpad – no touch screen controlls
The xyab buttons (customizable hopefully)
input character
enter command
delete key
[tab] character so people could tab complete commands.
The L and R shoulder buttons could control the scrolling of the top (scroll buffer ) screen

I also imagine a bookmark system that loads when you first start the app, allowing you to choose what server you’d like to connect to.

There are tons of open source ssh clients out there, like putty that would hopefully either proved useful code or inspiration.

Ketchup Mock-up Spring Compo 2007 française

23-Mar-07

Ketchup mock-up spring compo 2007
What is a mock-up ?
Here’s what Wikipedia says about mock-ups : “In common usage, a mock-up is a scale model of a structure or device, usually used for teaching, demonstration, testing a design, etc.”

So what is this compo ???
Very simple : you do a mock-up of the Nintendo DS application of your dreams, and if it is selected by one of our 5 coders, he’ll take care of developping it and submit it at the Neoflash Summer Compo, in 4 months.

What are the deadlines ?
- April 20th : All mockups must have been sent to mockup@kyuran.be with [KMSC] in the subject.
- May 1st : The 5 best mock-ups will be announced on this site, as well as the coders which chose them.
- Agust 20th : The applications will be submitted by their respective coders/graphists to the Neoflash Summer Compo 2007, which pretty much ensures that the coder will do his maximum for the application.

I will post all the mock-ups as they come on this blog. Please send them by mail with the application name and a brief description of what your program would need to do.
The images must have a resolution of 256×384 or 256×192.
